I’ve wanted to be a writer for as long as I can remember. But life has a way of taking you places you don’t want to go, and I visited some of those places before I found my way back to the simple joy of putting words on paper. Even better if someone wants to read it. Oh, and if someone pays me for it, well, I’m in heaven. The journey here took longer than I care to admit, but it was worth the trip. And I hope it’s worth your visit here. Come on in, look around, read some writing, if that’s what you like. I’m glad you’re here. NEWS |

January 23 – I'm considering making an appearance at Vision Con, held in Springfield Missouri. Guests of Honor will be Cullen Bunn and Brian Keene. If I go, I'll be there Saturday. June 12 – I'm organizing the pitch sessions for the 2009 Stoker Awards Banquet to be held this year at the Marriott Burbank Hotel and Convention Center in Los Angeles. I'll be there. Look for me in the pitch room! July 16 – It's possible this year I may end up at the Northeastern Writers' Conference, also known as Camp NeCon. This one is in Bristol Rhode Island, and is a small con where writers can get together and enjoy each other's company and do business. October 29 – World Fantasy Con in San José is also a possibility. Looks like fun! |

Well, it was three years in the making and it's finally here. From the authors of Thicker Than Water comes Thinner Than Mist, a collection of eleven tales of ghostly encounters from Bones and Caskets Press. |

This is another project I just finished with Mark W. Worthen. It's a second compilation of stories and poems by the Midwest Writers of Horror, a companion volume to Open Graves, which is currently out of print. You might be able to find a copy on the secondary market, however. Beneath the Stones contains one of my solo tales and a story cowritten with S. Elias Marx. |

They come from the strangest and sometimes the most normal settings imaginable. Sink your teeth into imaginative vampire tales that are set in Missouri’s southern border counties to a harem in Istanbul ... if you like vampire stories, you’ll love the variety of this anthology. Read one of J.P.'s stories here. |

| Additional conferences I hope to make it to are the Heartland Writers Guild conference on June 7, and possibly FenCon in October. There are those who are trying to convince me to go to DragonCon at the end of August. Time will tell. | ||
